The Global Indigenous Youth Summit on Climate Change (GIYSCC) is convening virtually for a ‘one of a kind’ event that shares youth perspectives, approaches , observations, concerns, interests, and strategies to address the local impacts of climate change across indigenous communities on Earth. The GIYSCC event aims to accelerate global engagement with Indigenous youth communities across the world in hopes of stimulating lifelong learning among indigenous youth and in bettering the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) intergenerational collaboration.
The free event will be a 24h webinar on Zoom, spanning across three 8-hour time zones, on August 9th, 2023. SOI alumni have been assisting this conference, sitting on the indigenous youth steering committee. Attend this event and show your support not only for fellow SOI Alumni but for the inclusion of indigenous youth voices within the global climate change dialogue.
